League of Women Voters to host mayoral and council candidate forums

Knoxville, Tenn.—The League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox County will host two candidate forums before the City of Knoxville primary elections.

 Both forums will take place at the Knoxville News Sentinel’s Community Room at 2332 News Drive beginning at 6:30 p.m. The mayoral forum will be Tuesday, June 25, and the city council candidates’ forum will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

 LWVKKC is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages active participation in government, and these forums provide an opportunity for citizens to submit questions for the candidates to answer.

 The early voting period is Wednesday, Aug. 7, through Thursday, Aug. 22, with election day on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019. For more information on voting, please visit the Knox County Election Commission’s website.
