According to VanShaver.com, Loudon County Trustee Chip Miller’s office has the 2026 Loudon County property tax bills available.

Meanwhile, many City of Knoxville property owners received their 2026 property tax bills on October 1. The City’s own property tax system confirms that City taxes are billed October 1 and become delinquent March 1. The City’s 2026 tax rate is $1.3956 per $100 of assessed value.

So, what about Knox County property tax bills?

During the four years Justin Biggs served as Knox County Trustee, Knox County property owners became accustomed to receiving their tax bills before October 1.

There is also some history worth remembering.

In 2021, Knox County property tax bills were significantly delayed because of problems associated with a software upgrade. Then-Trustee Ed Shouse posted a notice explaining that the software upgrade had delayed the mailing of the 2021 tax bills and prevented the 2021 tax amounts from appearing on the county website. The delay stretched well beyond the normal timeframe.

For property owners whose mortgage companies pay their taxes through an escrow account, there is another important point: historically, many of those property owners have not received a paper tax notice because the tax information goes to the mortgage company responsible for payment.

For everyone else, that tax bill arriving in the mailbox has traditionally been the signal that another property tax season is underway.

The Knox County Trustee collects the county’s property taxes, and the current Trustee website provides options for paying taxes online, in person, by telephone or by mail.

But one thing already appears clear for 2026:

Knox County’s property tax bills aren’t arriving early this year.

Loudon County has its 2026 property tax bills. City of Knoxville taxpayers began receiving theirs October 1.

Now Knox County property owners are waiting to see when theirs will arrive.
