Between 4 pm and 7 pm yesterday, Marco’s Pizza in Bluegrass was slammed. Yesterday was their pre-opening Friends and Family Event, which could have been called free pizza to the community.

Marco’s franchise owner Steve Petrone has taken the former Weigels at Ebenezer Rd and Bluegrass Rd and converted it to a Marco’s Pizza. There will be in door dining, out door patio dining, a carry out pick up drive through window and they deliver.

This is not Mr. Petrone’s first Marco’s, he opened the Marco’s in Halls after taking an old muffler store and creating his first Marco’s. It is refreshing to see a business owner take two former businesses and recreate new uses. As a 15 plus year resident of Bluegrass, I was a tad worried that the former Weigels would just sit and become a blighted property, but not so.
