So in today’s Knoxville News Sentinel owned Shopper News employee Sandra Clark has a story about Knox County Register of Deeds Sherry Witt‘s announcement that she will be a 2018 candidate for Knox County Clerk.

Clark portrayed the current Clerk as something he ain’t. She left out “the rest of the story”. She said he sued the county over unhealthy work conditions. But ole Clark left out that the current Clerk dropped his lawsuit after a Judge ruled he must pay for the lawsuit on his own dime. Ole Clark left out that for many years the Clerk did not collect the hotel/motel tax and had to hire a former Jefferson County Clerk employee to play catch up after the Knox County Commission discovered the clerk’s failure to collect.
