Randy Smith Asks Evelyn Gill for Clarification

On Monday during the discussion of Evelyn Gill’s membership on the Joint Education Committee. Commissioner Randy Smith was questioning her on her statements of serving on the Committee.

Gill was Chairman of Joint Education Committee from September 2016 – September 2017. The incident referenced in the lawsuit occurred in August 2017, Gill retired from Knox County Schools on October 31, 2017. Smith asked if she served last year on Joint Education from September 2017-September 2018, she said YES. Smith then says they did not meet last year. Gill was appointed again September 2018, the lawsuit was filed in October 2018 and was settled before the fourth Monday of March 2018. The lawsuit only lasted about 4 months.
