This evening from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM, supporters, Republican leaders, and community members gathered at Cherokee Country Club to recognize and celebrate Republican nominee Brent Gibson in his campaign for Knox County Sheriff.
The reception was hosted by Knox County Republican Party Chairman Martin Daniel and others, it brought together Republicans from across Knox County in support of Gibson as the party’s nominee heading into the August 6 election.
With Gibson currently unopposed in the General Election, the event served less as a traditional campaign stop and more as an opportunity for supporters to connect, discuss priorities for public safety, and continue building momentum and engagement across the county.
Attendees had the opportunity to visit with Gibson and hear directly about his vision for the Sheriff’s Office, while also spending time with local Republican elected officials, grassroots activists, volunteers, and community leaders.
Political gatherings such as this often provide a chance to reinforce relationships and continue conversations about public safety, law enforcement leadership, and the future direction of county government.
Even though the race is uncontested, election participation remains important. Early Voting for the August 6 election begins July 17 and continues through August 1.
Election Day is Thursday, August 6.
For Knox County Republicans, tonight’s reception reflected continued engagement and support as the party prepares for the summer election season.
