At the January 2019 Knox County Commission  Meeting there was extensive lengthy discussion about the urban growth plan that is suppose to sunset in 2020.

Well on 2/4/2019, enter Rookie State Rep. (Stay at Home Dad) Justin Lafferty that introduced HB 0717, a bill that will require growth plans to be filed with planning authorities by July 1, 2021. He got Former County Commissioner and Current State Senator Dr. Richard Briggs to sponsor SB 0530, a companion bill in the State Senate.

Sounds like Rep. Lafferty doesn’t like decisions at the local level. Appears he likes a state mandate on the local government.
