At the January 2025 Knox County Commission meeting, East Knox County Commissioner Adam Thompson and four of his colleagues voted to deny a rezoning request on N. Woodale Rd. The six other Commissioners voted to postpone the vote, wanting Scott Davis fo meet with the community.

Tonight, at 6 p.m. at Lyons Creek Baptist Church somewhere between 36-40 people met with Davis as Commissioner Thompson acted as a host.

Davis explained that he builds the roads, lots and he sells the lots to builders. The group was vocal about builder D R Horton. Horton apparently has built some of the recent homes in nearby development Neals Landing. The public reaction to Horton is NOT positive. In fact, he was asked if he would NOT sell lots to Horton.

The developments along Brakebill Rd., Hammer Road, Asheville Highway and Strawberry Plains Pike is drawing a lot of concern in East Knox County.
