I had interest in politics at a very young age. I began working in the my first campaign in 1982. While working at the Walgreens on the Cumberland Avenue Strip in 1985. Senator Baker came in because Mrs. Joy had been admitted to to Ft. Sanders Hospital. He had forgotten his alarm clock and he came into Walgreens to buy one.

He took the time to talk, encourage and invest into my life. The one thing I remember him telling me was “if politics is in your blood, you can not get a blood transfusion, you just get in and do it.”

I will be forever grateful for his time along his path that evening. Senator you have earned the rest, so Go Rest High on That Mountain.
