An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into allegations of rape and sexual battery has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Florida man.

In June of 2025, the TBI began investigating allegations of sexual misconduct involving Robert Bailey (DOB 11/4/1971). During the course of the investigation, agents gathered information indicating that between September 24th, 2024 and April 28th, 2025, Bailey sexually assaulted two patients while he was employed as a social worker for Centennial Medical Center.

On August 6th, a Davidson County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Bailey with one count of Rape and one count of Sexual Battery. On Tuesday, deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office took Bailey into custody at the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. He will be extradited back to Tennessee and booked into the Davidson County Jail.

Investigators believe Bailey may have victimized additional women. They are asking anyone with information regarding possible crimes to come forward.

The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.

NOTE: The TBI’s Medicaid Fraud Control Division receives 75 percent of its funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under a grant award totaling $11,616,724 for federal Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The remaining 25 percent, totaling $3,872,240 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026, is funded by the State of Tennessee.
