Today May 20, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee release the following statement regarding death row inmate Oscar Franklin Smith:

“After deliberate consideration of Oscar Franklin Smith’s request for clemency, and after a thorough review of the case, I am upholding the sentence of the State of Tennessee and do not plan to intervene.”

Who is Oscar Franklin Smith? He was convicted and sentenced to the Die for the 1989 killings of his estranged wife, Judith Robirds Smith, and her teenage sons — Jason Burnett and Chad Burnett.

He is scheduled to be put to death in two days, May 22, 2025. Justice will finally be served for Judith Robirds Smith, her two teenage sons Jason Burnett and Chad Burnett, thirty six years Oscar got that they did not.
