This announcement today from the website of WGNSRadio has to be the funniest and most comedic announcement of 2014. Former State Representative Joe Carr as TN Republican Party Chairman and one of many 2014 failed Republican challengers to re-elected United States Senator Lamar Alexander.

Carr ended his statement with

 “…My primary goal is to unify the Tennessee Republican Party around those shared principles that define who we are.”

Carr refused to endorse Senator Alexander between the August 7, 2014 Republican Primary and the November 4, 2014 General Election. Sources informed me when the two met that Carr said he would pray about a possible endorsement. The endorsement was never forthcoming. How he can intends to unify a party, when he chose not to endorse Senator Alexander sends the message that he instead would have rather TN select a “cut and paste pro Obama candidate”.

No matter how the Republican State Executive Committee changed on August 7, 2014 if they select a divider over a uniter for Republican Party Chairman, the days of TN being a dominant red state will be in jeopardy. If the SEC wants to move away from Devaney that is ok, just not with Carr.
