October 14–19: What Do the Numbers Tell Us?

Looking across the five days for which figures were supplied, several observations stand out:

1. Downtown West has been a leading location.

It recorded the highest daily total on October 14, 15, 16, 17, and 19. Its October 19 total of 1,511 was the largest single-location daily figure in the information provided.

2. Farragut has consistently ranked near the top.

Farragut was the second-highest location on all five reported days, demonstrating sustained activity in deep West Knox County.

3. Clinton Highway’s numbers changed substantially.

The supplied reports show zero votes on October 14, 15, and 16, due to being Closed, followed by 590 on October 17 and 835 on October 19.

4. Voters are participating across the county.

Karns, New Harvest, Halls, South, Payne Avenue Baptist, Carter, Gibbs, and the City County Building all recorded activity during the period.

Absentee Voting: October 14–17

The absentee figure provided for October 14 through October 17 was 1,659.

That number should be treated as the reported absentee total for the stated period. Without additional detail from the source, we should not assume whether it represents ballots requested, ballots issued, ballots returned, or another absentee-voting measure.

Those distinctions matter when comparing absentee activity with in-person Early Voting.

The Final Word: Knox County, There Is Still Time
