Last week there was an assault that has left a teenager fighting for his life in a hospital because of a hazing incident in Gatlinburg by several teens with the Ooltewah High School team. Read this Times Free Press story.

People say how can this happen? I will tell you, I predicted it during my term on the Knox County School Board. Bleeding heart liberal Paul Kelly convinced the former Superintendent and four other board members to eliminate zero tolerance discipline from the school system. There is no penalty for misbehavior, the next boards went further in coddling kids by letting them go to the mall for school where they can eat at the mall, hang out, shop lift whatever and all the while they name the mall school after the man that eliminated any discipline for misbehavior, 11 years later minor bullying becomes assault that leads to a busted colon.

Its sad that bleeding heart liberals have made our culture and our kids worse for the wear. Before you get any litigating ideas, this is my opinion based in part on my service and in hearing the talks that convinced my colleagues to gut zero tolerance.
