When Kate O’Day departed as Director of Department of Children’s Services Governor Bill Haslam shifted the responsibilities to Roane County native and former State Representative Jim Henry. Henry is the interim DCS Director. The children of TN have NO better advocate than Jim Henry. If Governor Haslam keeps Henry with the oversight of the management of DCS TN will be proud of how the next generation of our under served children turn out.

As a disclosure, yes I was a strong, vocal supporter for Jim Henry when he ran for the Republican nomination for Governor in 2002. When you know the story of Jim Henry, when you meet the man Jim Henry. You realize that you have gotten to know one of the people that will influence you for the rest of your life.
