Today at high noon was the filing deadline if your life long ambition is to be a City Councilman or woman. Three Council members have no opposition. Vice Mayor Nick Pavlis, City Councilman Duane Grieve and City Councilwoman Brenda Palmer will have no opponent on the ballot opposing them.

Rick Staples will challenge Councilman Nick DellaVolpe and Charles “Pete” Drew will challenge Councilman Dan Brown. The way the city elections are set up, a primary will be held in September and the top two vote getters from each district square off in a general election in November 2013.
