Today, I welcome The Campaign to Re-Elect Chuck Cerny for Knox County General Sessions Judge to the site. Judge Cerny is our Knox County General Sessions Judge, Division I. He was first elected in 1998 and has served exceptionally well and continues to do so, working with hundreds of thousands of criminal and civil cases. He won the May 3rd, 2022 Republican primary and now faces re-election on August 4, 2022 with Early Voting July 15-30.
Some of Judge Cerny’s accomplishments since 2011, resurrecting and making the Recovery Court successful after the previous “drug court” was nearly ruined by a former judge that succumbed to the disease of drug addiction (all my words). With Cerny’s efforts re-offender rates have been reduced by over 80% saving taxpayer dollars by helping participants avoid incarceration on new offenses.
Since 2013, Judge Cerny created the Knox County Veteran’s Treatment Court helping criminal justice system involving Veterans. Hundreds of positive outcomes, and Hundreds of lives changed.
