According to Commission Chairman Dave Wright’s acceptance of items for the April Knox Co Commission agenda items, the Commission is being asked to reappoint Archie Johnson to the Board of Equalization.

Johnson is the Treausrer for the failed campaign of Jim Weaver for Property Assessor. Is this cronyism ethical? Will Knox Co Commission follow through with this request. When political contributors to Weaver’s failed campaign where Johnson handled the Checks and Cash, will he recuse himself from discussions and votes on appeals before the board? Of course in addition, the position on the board is paid. Is this appropriate to reward a crony with a paid position?
