Tonight, January 29, 2026, the Young Republicans of Knoxville and Knox County hosted a successful and energizing evening titled “Gen Z in Politics” at the Square Room off Market Square in downtown Knoxville.

The event featured Maury County Commissioner Aaron Miller as the guest speaker, and the turnout alone told an important story: young people are not disengaged, apathetic, or absent from the political process. They are present, informed, and—yes—conservative.

Miller spoke about the importance of local government, civic engagement, and why Gen Z conservatives must step forward to take ownership of their communities and their future. His message resonated with a packed room of young adults eager to learn, connect, and be part of something bigger than themselves.

For too long, the narrative pushed by the media and political elites has been that younger generations lean overwhelmingly left or simply don’t care. Tonight’s crowd was living proof that narrative is wrong. From college students to young professionals, attendees were engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and clearly invested in the direction of their county, state, and country.

The Young Republicans of Knoxville and Knox County deserve credit for creating a space where young conservatives can gather, exchange ideas, and build relationships that will shape the next generation of leadership. Events like “Gen Z of Politics” are not just meetings—they are reminders that the conservative movement has a strong future.

If tonight was any indication, Gen Z conservatives are not waiting their turn. They are already here, already involved, and ready to lead.
