Today the TN State House passed Governor Bill Lee’s ESA aka Voucher Bill. In an unusual parliamentary procedure the Speaker held the vote open for about 30 or so minutes as the vote was deadlocked. Then Rep. Jason Zachary of Farragut flipped from a NO to a YES and the bill passed.

Zachary went to Twitter to say Knox County was exempted from the bill he voted for. Rep. Gloria Johnson said on Twitter that is NOT the case.

I do not understand the rationale that if you don’t want it for the kids of your district. Why vote for it for kids in other parts of the state?

Anyway, this will be fun to watch for a blogger like me.
