๐ข THE QUESTIONS THE PUBLIC DESERVES TO ASK
- Why are multiple candidates’ October filings not listed when the reporting deadline had been communicated in advance?
- Have the candidates whose filings are missing submitted them through another process, requested extensions, or received other filing instructions? The Election Commission can clarify.
- What do the reported expenditures tell us about campaign operations, consultants, printing, advertising, transportation, and election-night activities?
These are questions of public accountability, not conclusions about wrongdoing. The records should speak for themselves, and any discrepancies should be checked against the original filings.
Online filing should make submitting campaign financial disclosures easier. But technology does not replace the responsibility to file, the duty to maintain accurate records, or the public’s right to inspect campaign finances.
A campaign finance report is not just paperwork. It is part of the public record.
๐ข THE MEGA BULLHORN OF TRUTH WILL KEEP WATCHING.
In a future post, I will report on the Tennessee Republican State Executive Committee financials and the State House and State Senate campaign financials.
Stay tuned. Follow the money. Ask questions. Demand transparency.
THE PUBLIC DESERVES THE TRUTH โ EVERY NAME, EVERY DOLLAR, EVERY FILING.
