Rumors have been circulating that a veteran of the Knox County Property Assessors Office will be retiring in January. The rumor is that this employee has worked for the the current Assessor and for former Assessor John Whitehead.

We have been unable to confirm the rumor within the assessors office. However, a couple of City County Building sources have confirmed hearing the rumor of the announcement by Ballard to the office staff. But the sources said they would believe it when the longtime employee is no longer there.
