On Friday, Matlock for Congress campaign disclosed that their operation has been under an almost constant stream of cyber attacks ranging from the campaign’s website to Matlock’s personal business. In addition, a personal cell-phone number of one team member was spoofed in an attempted call-forwarding telephony scheme this afternoon during the 12:00 hour. While the hacking attempts appear to be foreign in nature, the campaign states that the attacker is simply masking their IP address to make it seem as if it’s coming from out of country.

“We have filed a police report on the illegal highjacking of our staffer’s cell-phone and have retained a cyber-crime forensic investigator,” said the campaign. “We are relatively certain who is behind it because they left a trail a mile wide and are just gathering the remaining evidence.”
