The weekly throw away paper editorialized through their Publisher that Chick-fila has ruined the “historic” and scenic area of Fountain City with a 40 foot pole sign. It is laughable logic!

The site they are replacing is an old not historic neglected shopping center. One shop in the dilapidated center within the year before being torn down caught on fire and was never rebuilt. A gas station was located in front of the center that had been closed for years.

The state of the art Chick-fila while a commercial enterprise will actually improve the view of Broadway and not continue housing burned out shops.

So, while Margot Kline of West Knox County not Fountain City may opt for Zaxby’s Chicken and Minute Maid Diet Lemonade, that is ok. You will have more than her 4,000 likes on a Facebook page which is from the World Wide Web and not a reflection of one community within our regional area of Knox County.
