Yesterday afternoon January 30, 2024 Knox County Commissioner Courtney Durrett kicked off her 2024 re-election campaign. The kickoff was held at the Relix Venue on Central in Happy Holler.

Durrett was joined by her husband Ruf and their two children. In addition to the campaign kickoff, The Durrett’s held a Donation Drive to help the Fountain City Do-Gooders DO some GOOD for the Knoxville Family Justice Center. Collecting Shampoo – Conditioner – Toothbrushes – Toothpaste – Soap – Razors – Deodorant – Shaving Cream – Feminine Products – Diapers and Baby Wipes.

I had to leave after about 20 minutes to make the League of Women Voters Knox County School Board Forum at Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church.

I saw Knox County Commission candidates, in District Nine Matthew Park, in District One Damon Rawls. Knox County School Board Member Kat Bike. Knoxville City Council Members Lauren Rider and Seema Singh. Former State Rep. Rick Staples, Former Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale and his wife Allison. Then of course our friend Ronnie Collins of the Alice Bell Community who is also the photographer of record for the Motley Crew Community Luncheon.
