This afternoon, the Knox County Commission held their October 2021 Work Session. A discussion item brought up by Commissioner Charles Busler was about Knox County Schools funding.

During the discussion, Commissioner Larsen Jay mentioned that the Commission has never discussed all the funding alternatives and specifically mentioned Knox County School Board Taxing Authority. Wow! That would be interesting, if the School Board could assess a tax rate for the operation of schools and not County Commission.

Would Commission have anything to do if they did not have schools taking up 60 plus percent of the county budget?
