Tonight the Eignth District Republican Club hosted John R Whitehead as their Speaker tonight. Whitehead beat the Chief Deputy of Current Property Assessor Phillip Ballard on March 1, 2016.

Knox Co Law Director Bud Armstrong, Ballard and probable 2018 Sheriff candidate Tom Spangler were in attendance. Whitehead talked about his previous service in the office and how he has been preparing to serve beginning September 1, *of course during the campaign it was reported that an investigation into Ballard has been going on, I guess there is a possibility that a vacancy could occur before 9/1/2016.

The club voted to give $500 to Commissioner Dave Wright (though he was not in attendance). In addition they gave $200 to Whitehead and $200 to Armstrong.

The door prize drawing was won by me and I donated the winnings back to the club. Because that’s the give back personality that I possess.
