The Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committeeman and Committeewoman positions for District 5, 6 and 7 are up on the Republican ballot. It is at the top of your ballot, you may have heard it waaaaay down at the bottom, that is not true, that was fake news. At least you did not hear it from #TheMegaBullhornofTruth.

Both political parties Republican and for those of you from Monroe County (Democrat) have a Committeeman and Committeewoman elected by each of the thirty three State Senate districts. Again for those from Monroe County that is 66 members. Those 66 persons hire the State Chair, elect a Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice Treasurer every two years for the four year term they are elected. They select the rules and bylaws and run the party. It is not a law making body, that is the legislature.

In District 5 (Lt. Governor Randy McNally‘s district) for Committeeman you have Anderson County Attorney and Anderson County Republican Party Chairman Zach Farrar being opposed by activist Lucas Heaton. In Committeewoman race, Anderson County Federated Republican Women Chair Amy Poteet is being challenged by Conservative group activist Sherry Garrett.

In District 6 (Senate Transportation Chair Becky Massey‘s district) this blog founder Brian Hornback, former Knox County School Board Member, former East District Director of TN School Boards Association, former Knox County School Board Vice Chair, former Knox County Republican Party Chair and current Tennessee GOP SEC man District 6 since 2021. is being challenged by Treasurer of the Knox County GOP and five year member of West Knox Club. Former United States Senator Lamar Alexander‘s field Rep. Jane Chedester is being challenged by Gwen Baxter, a candidate that has not made one public appearance in her campaign.

Hornback and Chedester are strong supporters of all Republican candidates for several decades, they both have supported Senator Massey and Senator Massey has endorsed Hornback.

In District 7 (Senate State and Local Government Chair Dr. Richard Briggs district) former Knox County Republican Party Secretary and Car Finance Entrepreneur Jeremy Coffey is unopposed. Immediate Former Knox County Republican Party Vice Chair and former Knox County Republican Party Treasurer Janis Crye is being challenged by court reporter and wife of Republican Seventh District County Commission candidate Barry Beeler, Staci Beeler.
