Two Years Ago, Mrs. Evelyn Gill was elected to serve on the Knox County Commission for the first District. Her yard signs had Rosie the Riveter and this screenshot from her campaign Facebook demonstrates it.

How ever when it came time to do the work last night in voting for Chairman and Vice Chair of the Knox County Commission, her response was “pass”. When given the chance to vote after everyone else had voted. She did not change her pass to an actual vote.

The citizens of the first district should be ashamed, as a party the Democrats should be upset as the party of one, Mrs. Evelyn could have decided the leadership of Commission for a year especially with the election of vice chair. But she passed and remained silent. Not even a show of support for Michele Carringer, the other female Commissioner for Vice Chair.

It is sad that she takes her position of the people so personally, it cost her constituents a voice last night.
