According to the daily paper, today Friday August 9, 2024 outgoing Knox County Second District School Board member Jennifer Owen turned in a lawsuit. It was the first full day of the 2024-2025 School Year. Owen said on Monday August 5th during the School Board workshop that she would be filing a suit the next day Tuesday August 6th.

When the Board met on Thursday August 8th, there was no mention of a/the suit. The School Board recognized Owen along with other outgoing Board members Daniel Watson of the Third District and Susan Horn of the Fifth District. The terms of the three end August 31, 2024 at 11:59:59 pm.

According to the quote of Knox Schools Spokesperson Carly Harrington on the daily paper website, the district had not received the suit. As is policy, they wont comment on pending litigation.

I will attempt to get a copy of the suit Monday. Until then its just gossip.

Owen, Watson and Horn honored for their service on the eve of the reported filing of the lawsuit.
