Kevin Huffman is leaving the position of TN Education Commissioner. Dr. James P. McIntyre, Jr. would be an excellent choice, if he or TN Governor Bill Haslam are interested in McIntyre having the position. McIntyre could likely stay in Knoxville, where his high school and middle school age boys attend school.

Former State Representative and State Senator Jamie Woodson would be another great choice. Woodson left the position of STate Senator District Six to work as the top official at SCORE. An education based organization. Being TN Education Commissioner would not be a step up but it would give her political stature and she is the type of Republican that should be considered for Governor in 2018. She is educated, been gainfully employed outside of politics and has a stable balanced family life.
