Jim Weaver, candidate for Knox County Property Assessor next year and the right hand of current Property Assessor Phil Ballard has a campaign. Next week the campaign will have a fundraiser at Calhouns.
I had not really thought about who Weaver’s treasurer was until I realized that Archie Johnson (who is the appointed Treasurer and the Treasurer that has already filed one financial disclosure this month) it could be the same Archie Johnson that serves on the Board of Equalization. I have been told Mr. Johnson is the Chair of the Board of Equalization.
The Board of Equalization is the group of citizens that listens to your appeal of the appraised assessment of your property when you disagree with the Assessor.
Is it right for the person that presides on those matters also be the campaign bag man for financial contributors and contributions?
