Last night during the Knox County Commission workshop and budget hearing. County Commissioner of the Fifth District John Schoonmaker said something to the effect (actual video will be uploaded later).

Well whatever the Commissioner in that district want, is what Commission does. So, the district Commissioners are dictators? What does that make of the two at Large Commissioners? Are they just potted plants?

When the 2 at Large Commissioners were put in, the reason was so that each Commission district would have 3 representatives. The district and 2 at Large representatives.

Is Schoonmaker’s comment an admission of a quid pro quo among Commissioners?
