Many of us in the media got a email Friday August 28, 2026, announcing that Knox County Sheriff-Elect Brent Gibson is naming Justin Pratt, Senior Pastor Clear Springs Baptist Church of the Gibbs community as the next Public Information Officer aka Communications Director for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. I believe Pratt will have both positions, so I am not personally expecting him to leave the Pastorate at Clear Springs.

I became aware of Pratt when he was Pastor of Valley View Baptist in North Knoxville. I would attend special services there at the time, here is a picture of Pratt and I from early 2017. Let me just write that I would venture to bet (if I was the gambler, and I ain’t) that I am the only one (in media) with a selfie in my file of the incoming PIO, Communications Director (prove me wrong Joel, Allie, Tyler, Scott or Jessie)

Let me say Thank YOU, Best Wishes and God Speed to Kimberly Glenn, PIO/Communications for Sheriff Tom “Spanky” Spangler the past 8 years. She never delayed my access to information or records requests although in the early years, she would have been justified. I am glad, blessed and grateful that I am good with Sheriff-Elect Gibson and Sheriff Spangler.

I am not a Felon, never have been, have never been removed from a Judge as an elected official or resigned before my term was up…….because of forge, fraud of being a pill head or violence.
