The Knox News Sentinel Editorial Board must have traveled to a company event in Colorado after the Thursday election. The editorial today is pointing fingers as the voters for choosing Clarence “Eddie” Pridemore and Wiliam “Bill” Ailor over Chancellor Daryl Fansler and Circuit Court Judge Harold Wimberly, Jr. respectfully.

All four of these candidates advertised on BrianHornback.Com all four are good men that I have met and spent some time with. I have spent the least amount of time with Ailor but many, many people have continued to tell me that Ailor is a good guy.

Experience or Lack Thereof

The Knox News Sentinel Editorial Board and all it’s owned throw away weeklies have no one to blame but themselves. I was reminded today, that Pridemore has more experience than Richard “Bud” Armstrong when he was elected Law Director two years ago. Clearly, while Ailor’s experience is not as in depth, it is wider. The Big Metal Shed on the Hill failed in it’s mission in shedding light on all FOUR candidates to let the people find the way. If low information voters is the disease, what is the preventive immunization? I believe it is the media doing their job in providing high intensive factual information without spin to balance the scales.

This is the 10 year birthday of this forum. It is my hobby, it is my passion, It is not my full time job. I do not have a cubicle in the Big Metal Shed or the little outhouse where the Shopper is located. I am not making a median salary where I wait for information to come into my email inbox from a PR shop or entity advancing a cause or a candidate where I copy, paste and publish.

Come on Knoxville media, do your job. TV and radio get a bit of a pass because they only have limited minutes to get all they can get reported in between Sports (we are a sports town) and weather.

With the News Sentinel they print everyday, they have time to research and go in depth to get it right and shed the light. The weeklies are so weakly because they have almost 5 days to get it right with investigation and research to get the quotes and information right.m

All this in the post Judge Richard Baumgartner era and the News Sentinel Editorial board/page wants to put the blame on the low information voter. As my grandfather would say, you can point the finger at the low information voter but you have four coming back at ya.

Rethink yourself News Sentinel, either improve or continue your downward spiral and eventually folks like me with the passion, energy and enthusiasm to continue this hobby of mine to inform, enlighten the people will replace you.

Fansler, Pridemore, Wimberly and Ailor deserved so much better from you than any of the four of them received.
