Knox Sheriff’s Pursuit Ends With Two Deaths

Reported By

Reported On

On April 13, 2022, at approximately 11:35 pm, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office Patrolman spotted a Chevrolet pickup truck driving recklessly in the Clinton Highway and Pleasant Ridge Road area.
An attempt to conduct a traffic stop on the Chevrolet was unsuccessful; the suspect(s) began to flee. The Officer was able to get the license plate number; the plate was reported stolen by the Knoxville Police Department. The Officer began pursuing the suspects at approximately 11:39 pm. The pursuit ended at approximately 11:46 pm after the suspect’s vehicle went over the railroad tracks in the 7500 block of Ballcamp Pike, at which time it appears the driver (suspect) lost control of the pickup truck, hitting a tree.
The driver and passenger were declared deceased on the scene. The deceased suspects were transported to the Regional Forensic Center for further examination. The pursuit/crash is under investigation at this time.
We will release more details, including the incident report, once available.

Both suspects’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
