Yesterday, I wrote that I heard TN State Senator Sara Kyle was the favored Democrat to challenge for the U. S. Senate seat that Lamar Alexander will not seek re-election for in 2020.

That still be true, BUT enter James Mackler as an announced Democrat candidate for that seat TODAY. So, Kyle and/or others will have to beat him for it. He has started today with an aggressive anti Trump posture, it’s what he probably has to do, but today, that does NOT look like a winning strategy to me. But I am not the one he has to convince to become the Democrat nominee.
