I’ve anticipated this post for a good six months or more. I saw this one coming, anyone other than a blind person should have seen this coming down the pike.

Dr. Martha Buchanan is resigning October 1, 2021 per the initial report by WBIR. Much like when President Richard Nixon told America you won’t have me to kick around anymore. The difference is Dr. Buchanan won’t say it, she will just leave.

Now I was a critic when the reopening task force was not sun-shined. But over that bump, I grew to respect her ability to stand in spite of the political pandering of elected officials (especially Jason Zachary) and accusations.

Elected officials ask for the treatment when they run for and win elections. Appointed folks don’t ask for it, but Dr. Buchanan rolled with it. But as a human being you can only tolerate so much abuse.

Let’s remember when County Commissioner Carson Dailey and others said, we will have your back Dr. B. But they didn’t.

This could be a major hick-up for the re-election of Mayor Glenn Jacobs (read the word “could”) should the delta variant or the lack of vaccinations not produce herd immunity.

Anyway, as usual I was my typical self, so I am sure Dr. Buchanan is not a fan. I am sure Mayor Jacobs ain’t thrilled, I know his newer handlers are not fans.

On Monday this site will begin it’s seventeenth year, that’s 17 for those in Corryton. I call it as I see it, will always say I did it, if I did, cause it’s here for all you’ns to see and recall.
