On Thursday the Knox County Republican Party Chair sent out an email saying that a grassroot organizer was needing some folks to canvass neighborhoods and help and would pay, she identified it as a campaign for Alexander.

Then she immediately sent a second email saying please ignore said email because it was was for the people opposing Alexander. She also stated that this occurred because she was under prescribed doctors medical orders in preparation for a surgery is the reason she sent the email. She ended her follow up email with “Good Lord This is the last group that I would help out. Please disregard the first email”

Interesting that the first email is time stamped at 1:06 p.m. and the second is time stamped 12:27:33 CDT. Wonder if the time zone was changed in attempts to recall said email? Just guessing.

As Chair, she can not show favoritism to or oppose an inter party primary. So, if she had simply explained that she was correcting that this man works for Alexander’s opponent and as Chair she was forwarding their information along, that would have been ok. But now, the door is open for Alexander’s opponents file a protest of her impartiality and she could have to defend herself against not being impartial. Of course, her defense could be that she was under medication prescribed for an upcoming procedure.
