This afternoon the Commission Office put out 4 public notices. Robert Lawrence Smith has announced 4 meetings to discuss the September Commission Reorganization (translation: he wants to be Chairman)

Interesting note when he ran for Vice Chairman last year with Tony Norman as Chairman they did not send out meeting notices for such encounters.

Here is the schedule,

Thursday August 15, 3:00 p.m. Chick-fil-A at 5100 North Broadway (this is the New Fountain City Chick-fil-A) Smith and Jeff Ownby.

Thursday August 15, 7:00 p.m. Archers BBQ 7650 Oak Ridge Highway (Karns Community) Smith and Brad Anders.

Friday August 16, NOON Chandlers Deli 3101 East Magnolia Avenue Smith, Sam McKenzie and Amy Broyles.

Monday August 19, 3:30 p.m. or immediately following Commission workshop in the Main Assembly Room of the City County Building 400 W. Main Street Smith and Mike Hammond, Ed Shouse, Tony Norman.

Note Worthy: Smith has NOT sun-shined (given notice) of meetings with Richard Briggs, David Wright and Mike Brown.

Smith who is term limited and who has only one year left as Commissioner is apparently wanting to follow in the footsteps of Former Seventh District Commissioners Leo Cooper and Scott Moore. Both Cooper and Moore served multiple terms as Chairman of Commission.
