Also, this evening the candidates for Second District Knox County School Board participated in an abbreviated forum at the North Knox/Ftn. City Republican Club.

Rick Ross the President of the NKFC GOP Club asked about the Superintendent's extension that was granted a few months ago and if they would have supported it.

All three candidates have really caught up on the issues and entered the fire rather quickly. Indya Kincannon announced her August departure in July. So, neither of these three candidate would have been preparing to run a few months ago.

Tracie Sanger, a former Knox County School teacher, current Adjunct Professor at Tusculm College and a mother of two children that are currently enrolled in Knox County Schools. This morning, I heard a certain radio talk show that was critical of Sanger simply because she has raised a respectable amount of money compared to her two opponents. When did it become fashionable to criticize someone for raising too much money? A former failed candidate for School Board Sixth District called in and said there should be limits on out of district contributions. What, she isn’t a resident of the Second District, let’s start with her ability to opine her opinion outside her sixth district. That isn’t right and I don’t support that, it is as asinine idea as what Tamara Shepherd proposed.

Charlotte Dorsey, a former Knox County School teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal and Consultant is seeking the position. She provides a perspective of having been there. But, so does Sanger.

The candidate that has drawn the perspective of holding the anti McIntyre four together is Jamie Rowe. Rowe is an activist that has spent a lot of time at County Commission over the years really bird dogging residential development and zoning’s along Tazewell Pike. I would have thought a County Commission race would have been a stronger perspective for her. She has studied the issues.
