Sheriff Tom Spanky Spangler picked Tuesday March 29, 2022 as his preferred date for a League of Women Voters Knoxville Knox County candidate forum. After appearing virtually with his Republican opponent Jimmy JJ Jones on Thursday March 24 on WBIR (which aired Sunday March 27, 2022) the League received notice from Spangler reneging on his commitment to appear, thus canceling the event.

Do NOT take my reporting of it, READ the League’s email below, sent to the scheduled Moderator Jesse Mayshark of Compass Knox, Sheriff Jones and others.

Jones posted on his Facebook here if members of the league have any questions to reach out and he would be available to answer.

the "Mr. Hornback" one, but my dad and brother were not in Farragut — **from the March 3 Farragut face to face with Jones and Spangler**

So the only event where both were together was this March 3 Farragut meeting and the Sunday Inside TN tv program where they were virtual.

Spangler was ill for the Town Hall East event and became double scheduled for Tuesday between the league and an event with the family of Ryan Knaus
