Some Sad News: Knoxville is Losing a 42 year old Business, Cedar Springs Christian Bookstore is Closing

After 42 Years, Cedar Springs Christian Bookstore has announced that the end has come for their store. I was a frequent visitor, even at the Original store in Cedar Bluff Shopping Center before they moved to Peters Road, then they had Clinton Highway and Oak Ridge. Now they have Peters Road and it’s closing.

The Peters Road location truly helped the community, hosting meetings in the large room upstairs. But it all comes to an end.

The statement read

Cedar Springs has been blessed to serve Knoxville and beyond for over 42 years. Curtis and Lois McGinnis (Dad and Mom) were moved to open a small Christian bookstore. They had no experience but a lot of prayer and faith.
Over the years, we’ve enjoyed meeting so many wonderful customers, area churches and dedicated staff who’ve joined wholeheartedly in the mission.. It truly has been a blessing and a labor of love.
Despite the loyalty of many special customers and our best efforts to remain relevant, we have not been able to continue to compete with online retailers.
We believe the time has come for us to close our doors. We want to thank you for allowing Cedar Springs to be part of your walk of faith.
