Statement from Knox County Sheriffs Office on the Hayes Arrest

Reported By

Reported On

On Friday evening I requested a statement from Knox County Sheriffs Office. Today I received the following communication from Kimberly Glenn.

I have spoken to Assistant Chief Deputy Workman regarding the arrest of Mr. Hayes on Friday afternoon. Chief Workman says the arrest facts are contained in the report that we released publicly later Friday night. Additionally, he states the Deputies acted in a manner consistent with their professional training. Body cameras are not issued to court officers as they are required to be in/out of the courtroom at a moment’s notice. Deputies waited until Hayes exited the meeting before taking him into custody.
