Thursday night October 26, 2023 the Town of Farragut Board of Mayor and Alderman met. One of the items they voted on was a “ratification” vote aka confirmation of a June 2023 vote and Mayor Ron Williams contract signature on the purchase of property off McFee Road known as the Scott Brothers property.

Tim Scott one of the Scott Brothers spoke about the property and the 2022/2023 failed Knox County Schools purchase of the property. He also said that it was he that walked away from the sale to Knox County Schools because the issue became “political”. Since Scott walked away from the sale, why did Knox County taxpayers pay the $50,000 in earnest money? Read my post on the lost Knox County money here.

Scott also gave his history in Knox County and the history of the property and the previous owners, the B Ray Thompson family. Scott failed to mention the greatest legacy of B Ray Thompson was Thompson’s support for and gift to East Tennessee of the Thompson Cancer Survival Center.

You can watch the meeting here with Scott and everything that occured in less than 2 hours. It was quite interesting and I am sure there will be more to talk about in the future.
