Sunday afternoon November 19. 2023, residents and property owners in the South Knox County community of Dry Hollow welcomed 2024 Knox County Commission candidates, Matthew Park and Andy Fox. A third candidate Barry Neal did not respond to messages sent by Dry Hollow activist Brad Russell. Dry Hollow activist Dawn Close served as the Moderator and Host for today’s meeting.

The Dry Hollow community fought a high density Thunder Mountain development, the development passed Knox Planning and Knox County Commission. The residents/property owners have filed suit on the actions of the Commission in the approval process. That lawsuit continues today. The current Commissioner is term limited and will vacate the seat at 11:59:59 PM on August 31, 2024.

The Primary elections will be held on March 5, 2024 selecting the political party nominees. Then a August 1, 2024 General Election will determine the Commissioner that will begin serving the Ninth District at 12:00:01 AM on September 1, 2024.
