On February 19, 2026 Martin Ammons, the unsuccessful Republican primary opponent of Brian Hornback, TN Republican State Executive Committeeman District Six challenged Mr. Baer in writing on February 19, 2026 to the Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden of the TN Republican Party along with the six Republican State Executive Committee persons of Knox county, “not only is Mr. Baer not a bona fide Republican (I understand that he is 0/4 in the last four state Republican primaries), but he has a somewhat checkered past, having been involved in some unethical behavior while an employee of the New York City police department as described in the linked article, here.
